beef, lamb, and pork from pasture raised animals. “Once you have tasted pork from pigs raised on pasture where they can graze and root you will never settle for anything less again...Lopez Island Farm creates gourmet specialty foods from apples grown by us and local farms here in the Pacific Northwest”.

Comment from Land and Sea: This lovely farmstand served our community with healthy, locally produced food for many years, contributed to the local economy, and created JOBS. It is now closed due to short sighted government restrictions arbitrarily enforced. What a shame.
To read about the incredible Jones Family Farm, or to buy meats and seafood from Jones Family Farm/Barlow Bay Seafood, go to http://www.jffarms.com/
Nick and Sara Jones and family have contributed so much to our local community, and this hard working and generous young couple supplies the local Lopez Island Farmer's Market, dozens of local restaurants on all the islands, and some of Seattle's finest restaurants as well.
It is well worth reading more about these two and their team, and visiting their farm if you have a chance.

In season, Alaska and Puget Sound: Chinook/Kings - (taste a snippet of heaven); Silver/Coho salmon in season (beautiful fish), pink salmon - (salmon are bled and iced - as always - and well cared for. Because of the care given to these fish, they are an excellent fish and the price is just unbeatable); fresh sockeye in season (dark, firm, flavorful - and threatened by fish farms); frozen sockeye salmon - (handled with care, processed at a small processing plant in Alaska [another small family business]).", halibut (delicious), yelloweye rockfish - (they have a rich flavor, and make an unbelievable fish taco!) , fresh whole rockfish, smoked blackcod - (This fish is so rich and oily it is beyond belief- and that's omega-3 oil, so eat up!); chum salmon, smoked sockeye salmon.

Also, visit the nonprofit FISH FOR TEETH info/contact page. This is fishermen taking care of kid's and other islanders' teeth. It is and incredible and effective organization, and is well worth a visit and your support!

Oysters, mussels, clams
* Westcott Bay European Flat or "Belon" (Ostrea edulis ) - an elegant oyster native to France, Holland, and the British Isles. The Westcott European has a complex flavor with a distinct sweetness.
* Westcott Bay Petite (Crassostrea gigas )- a Pacific hybrid- a cross between the Miyagi from Central Honshu and the delicious, tiny Kumamoto from Kyushu. It is rich, sweet, and mildly salty.
* Westcott Bay Manila Clam (Tapes japonica )- a native of Japan; a steamer clam famed for its sweetness, produced in our hatchery, and planted on the beach.
* New - Westcott Bay Mediterranean Mussels
Shellfish aquaculture farm. Products grown exclusively in Westcott Bay. On the shoreline of San Juan Island near the Canadian border, the productive bay is enriched by the clean, cold waters of the Straits of Juan de Fuca.
Westcott Bay combines advanced aquaculture systems, prime site location, and a production team focused on excellence.
The shellfish are spawned in the Westcott Bay hatchery and cultivated in lantern nets suspended in deep water for optimal growth and safety. The harvested shellfish are cleaned to table-ready condition, chilled and hand-packed for both safety and quality of product.
The Washington State Health Department tests the shellfish each week for PSP (Red Tide) and Domoic Acid. It tests the growing waters bimonthly. The company's marine biologists test the water weekly.
